About Our Perfumes

What is Arabian perfume?

Arabian perfume is a fragrance category based on the rich and long-lasting scent culture developed in the Middle East. It boldly uses noble ingredients such as oud, amber, and musk, creating perfumes that take center stage through their powerful presence.

What is the difference between Arabian perfume and regular perfume?

The biggest difference is "concentration and character." Arabian perfumes don't rush to evaporate—they unfold in layers over extended periods. They're more robust than typical European fragrances, delivering overwhelming performance in terms of projection, depth, and longevity.

Is Oudelier an Arabian perfume brand?

Oudelier is an online shop specializing in curating Arabian perfumes for the Japanese market. Rather than being a brand, we position ourselves as a "quality gatekeeper" that carefully selects high-performance Arabian perfumes and delivers them in optimal condition.

What is the concentration of the perfumes you sell?

Our lineup mainly consists of Eau de Parfum (EDP) with concentrations of approximately 15-20%. These are higher density than standard lines, with high-concentration formulations that deliver strong presence even with a minimal single spray. The layered structure from top notes to base notes is maintained for extended periods, making daily wear performance distinctly superior.

Perfume Care & Storage

How should I store perfume?

The golden rule for perfume storage is to avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures and humidity, and sudden temperature changes. Ideally, store at room temperature in a dark, well-ventilated place. Environments with fluctuating temperatures such as windowsills, bathrooms, and car interiors should be avoided as they accelerate fragrance deterioration.

How can I use perfume effectively?

The optimal approach is to apply minimally to pulse points where body temperature is high (neck, wrists, chest). Rubbing causes top notes to dissipate quickly, so we recommend allowing natural drying without touching the skin after spraying. Lightly applying to the inside of clothing creates fragrance layers that last for extended periods.

Why doesn't the scent last?

The three main factors for poor longevity are:

1. Dry skin

Skin with less oil doesn't retain fragrance well, causing faster evaporation. Especially in winter when dryness intensifies, hydration makes a significant difference in longevity.

2. Temperature and humidity

In cold environments, fragrance projection weakens. In colder seasons, applying one extra spray is a rational approach.

3. Application amount and location

Applying to areas prone to evaporation causes fragrance to fade quickly. Specific examples:
Back of hands and fingertips: High movement accelerates evaporation
Shoulders and hair surface: Easily dispersed by wind

Conversely, pulse points like neck, wrists, chest, and inner elbows retain fragrance better and maintain stable longevity.

How do I choose the right perfume for me?

Fragrance selection becomes significantly more precise when you focus on these three axes:

1. Fragrance direction

Woody, amber, floral, spice, etc.—first clarify which family you instinctively find pleasant.

2. Usage scenario

Daily wear, business, evening outings, special occasions—defining the intended scenario clarifies the necessary intensity and presence.

3. Preferred intensity

Do you prioritize lightness, or do you seek a type that leaves a strong impression? This axis directly determines your final selection.
Arabian perfumes have high fragrance oil density, with projection varying significantly based on skin type, body temperature, and lifestyle. Therefore, narrowing down your usual fragrance preferences and usage scenarios in advance is the most reliable approach to avoid mismatches.
Additionally, each product description includes detailed information about "recommended scenarios" and "who it suits best." By cross-referencing this information, you can efficiently select fragrances that better fit your style.

Do perfumes have an expiration date?

Perfumes have no legally defined expiration date, but it's recommended to use them within approximately 3-5 years after opening. Fragrance changes (evaporation and oxidation) occur over time and depending on storage conditions, so quality can be maintained longer by storing in a dark place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. Arabian perfumes in particular, due to their high concentration and stable fragrance oils, tend to last relatively longer, though it's worth noting that the fragrance impression may gradually change.
